The following dogs are available for adoption through private parties in the community. The Brittany Foundation is providing this service in an effort to help these dogs find loving new homes, but we have not evaluated the dogs on this page and they are not under our care. All dogs must be spayed or neutered before being placed on this page.
If you're interested in one of the dogs shown here, please contact the owner/rescuer directly. If you have rescued a dog and would like to post it on this page, click here for info.
Callie
HI!!! My name is Callie and I am a five month old female spayed German Shepherd mix. I love to play with children, cats, and, of course, other dogs! My foster parents think I am very friendly and outgoing. Can you believe I am almost housetrained! I can’t wait to for my training to be finished. Like I stated above I love to play but I also love to cuddle and when it is time for bed I fall right asleep, as long as I can sleep in the same room as my foster parents. If you are interested in me you can call my foster mom (Virginia) or foster dad (Jim) at (661) 263-9845 or my foster sister (Sarah) at (661) 478-3002. What else can I say except ARE YOU MY NEW FAMILY???

Bailey
Bailey is around a year old and is a gorgeous red pit. She doesn’t have any scars. She was found literally wandering the desert at Ave D and the 14 freeway in Lancaster. She leapt into my sister’s car and was thrilled to be with a human. She has to be confined in a run (which has access to the garage) and on her first night she stole a sneaker and was found sleeping with her head on it. She is absolutely adorable. She is gentle and submissive. My sister’s female dog charged her and she immediately flipped on her back and did not fight back. She knows how to sit and is very well behaved inside a house. If you are interested in adopting Bailey please email Christina here!
Oscar
7 yr old Oscar is a handsome Lab/Pointer boy whose family can no longer keep him. Great personality and low maintenance. He graduated basic obedience training and loves to go for walks. A happy boy who likes to lay in the sun. Oscar would probably do best in an adult home.
Please contact The Brittany Foundation as we are attempting to help this family find him a new loving home.

Acre
Acre is a Border Collie/ Huskie/ Lab mix 6 years old? She weighs about 35 pounds is spayed and up to date on shots. She was in the shelter for 5 months. She was placed but the woman had to go into hospital for an unknown amount of time.
She is smart, affectionate, playful. She can not be left in the house alone or crated for any extended length of time. But she will wait for you to come home in the yard and is great inside if someone is home. She loves kids and is very sweet with them. She seems to like going after small dogs, so I would suggest no small dogs or cats. Though she is ok with small dogs most of the time, it is best to be cautious. She learns very quickly and is a great watchdog. She only barks when she is supposed to and also seems good around wheelchairs.
Please email Lorna Leslie - lornaleslie@earthlink.net if you would like to adopt Acre.
